Students in grades 5th and 6th receive instrumental music instruction as a regular part of their curriculum and perform at concerts during the year. Students in grades 7th-12th can elect to participate in band as a class during the school day. In addition to performing at scheduled concerts and events during the school year, 7th-12th grade band students participate in a regional large group contest and may also perform individually or in a smaller group at regional and state solo-ensemble contests. During sporting activities in the fall and spring members of the 7th-12th grade band who are not competing in the sport perform in the C-FC Pep Band. Top instrumentalists may be selected for the area honors band.
