Our school district serves scenic river town communities along Highway 35, the Great River Road National Scenic Byway along the Mighty Mississippi River. Students live in the Buffalo County areas of Buffalo City, Cochrane, Fountain City and Waumandee. Nestled between tree-lined bluffs and the Mississippi River, the area provides easy access to hunting, fishing, boating, kayaking, trapping, bird watching, snowmobiling and more!

Located at the base of Eagle Bluff which towers 550 feet above the river, Fountain City features parks and trails, sculpture gardens and galleries, a golf course, vineyards, historical museum, Kinstone (Wisconsin’s own Stonehedge), festivals and much more. In Cochrane, families can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool and explore nature in Goose Lake Memorial Park. Day trips to La Crosse and Eau Claire are both an hour away.

We are always looking for families, local residents and businesses to offer their time, talent and treasure. Get involved with any of our local programs (see brochure for more information):

Cochrane-Fountain City volunteers at golf fundraiser

Pirate Youth Athletic Association - Volunteer to coach or serve on the PYAA Board. Help volunteer at tournaments we host. Sponsor one of our sports teams or donate funds to help purchase equipment and other needs. Sponsors are featured in a game day sports program handed out at Cochrane-Fountain City home sporting events for fall, winter and spring.
PTO - Join the Board or help plan family-friendly events. Volunteer to help set up or serve at events such as craft and book fairs, movie nights, fundraisers and sports concessions. Stay engaged with our Facebook page.
Treasure Trove Foundation - Serve on the Board of Directors and help organize our annual fundraisers. Become a member of the Treasure Trove Giving Circle by donating to projects you support. Attend fundraisers like the annual golf outing. Encourage others to make a gift!
Pirate Booster Club - Join the Board or attend Booster Club meetings and provide input into funding decisions. Sign up to volunteer in our concession stands. Help organize our fundraisers.
Performing & Fine Arts Boosters - Work the ticket booth, serve as usher or help with theater make-up. Volunteer at the summer Ashley for the Arts weekend music festival to earn funds for our students (and get a free pass to the event!)
Additional programs supporting students include the Early Learning Center (Head Start); Pirate Mat Club; and 4-H Afterschool Program through the UW-Madison Division of Extension Buffalo County.
